Susan ("Susie") Phillips, associate professor of English and associate department chair, Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, is the recipient of the 2014 Alumnae Teaching Professorship Award. The three-year award honors a tenured faculty member for excellence in teaching and curriculum innovation.
The Alumnae Dissertation Fellows - the Northwestern women who received Alumnae funding during their dissertation year. From 1975-2008 more than $1,785,000 was awarded to 144 doctoral students - many of whom credit the Award for giving them the "courage and confidence" to complete their research. Their findings have been published in prestigious journals and award-winning books. Today many are tenured professors - others are teachers, researchers, musicians and actresses.
The Alumnae of Northwestern University closed its Centennial year on September 19, 2016, with a Fall Lecture: ELECTIONS 1916 AND 2016: WHAT HAS A CENTURY CHANGED? given by David Zarefsky, Professor Emeritus, Department of Communication Studies.
The inaugural class of The Alumnae of NU Undergraduate Research Scholars were invited to the May 16, 2016, Annual Luncheon at the Guild Lounge in Scott Hall.
