Susie Phillips, Alumnae Teaching Professor 2014-17

Susan ("Susie") Phillips, associate professor of English and associate department chair, Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, is the recipient of the 2014 Alumnae Teaching Professorship Award. The three-year award honors a tenured faculty member for excellence in teaching and curriculum innovation.

Diane Luchese, Dissertation Fellow, 1996

The Alumnae Dissertation Fellows - the Northwestern women who received Alumnae funding during their dissertation year. From 1975-2008 more than $1,785,000 was awarded to 144 doctoral students - many of whom credit the Award for giving them the "courage and confidence" to complete their research. Their findings have been published in prestigious journals and award-winning books. Today many are tenured professors - others are teachers, researchers, musicians and actresses.
